Staff Opportunities

We have many opportunities for long term staff. Our staff are passionate about the work they do and personally raise their own financial support to serve. All of our long term staff are DTS graduates. If you are interested in joining us please see the opportunities listed below.

Port YWAM is the home of YWAM Ships Kona, a repurposed hotel in a prime location on Alii Drive in downtown Kona, Hawaii. Port YWAM has five classrooms, multiple offices, and facilitates our logistical support & training around the world. We have immediate opportunities in the following areas:

Administrator/Office

Our outpost in northern Panama is on an island called Bastimentos, on the Caribbean Sea near Costa Rica. It is located in the jungle and has its own dock, nestled among many indigenous Ngobe Indian tribes. The base sleeps forty individuals. It is close to Bocas Del Toro, a town on a neighboring island of approximately 12,000 population with an airport. We have immediate opportunities in the following areas:

The m/v YWAM LIBERTY exponentially increases YWAM Ships Kona’s programming impact (both geographically and in volume), helping to support basic service delivery, build capacity and address some of PNG’s most critical health concerns. The ship can deliver containers to isolated islands with pre-packaged educational classrooms and skill-based training tools. We have immediate opportunities in the following areas:

Living on board

Life on board a ship is a lot of fun. Living in close community will be a new experience for some and we want all to work together to make it an enjoyable experience. Here’s more information about what life aboard a ship looks like:

Due to the unique nature of these outreaches, we want to help you understand the accountability structure of our organization. The ship coordinator, from YWAM Ships Kona, will lead and facilitate the outreach. The medical coordinator will assist clinic leaders of each medical team to make sure the clinics run smoothly. The captain will oversee areas concerning navigation of the ship and safety on board.

Serving in Staff at YWAM Ships is such a fulfilling and ever-expanding experience. So many roles are necessary to complete the Great Commission. There are so many possibilities here to serve God and the mission of reaching the nations and our community. I love being a part of it and experiencing firsthand a lifestyle of faith and going for what God has for us!
