One of YWAM Ships vessels the HAWAI’I ALOHA based out of Kailua Kona, has just completed the first of three trips to the outer islands of Kiribati. They will be heading to the Marshall Islands, Pohnpei and Kapingamarangi over the next 9 months. The purpose of these voyages is to bring hope to the remote Islands of the Pacific as we help meet some of their practical needs.  YWAM stands for Youth with a Mission, a global movement of people from many cultures, age groups, and Church backgrounds that volunteer their time to help to create lasting positive change.  YWAM currently works in more than 1,400 locations in over 190 countries, with over 25,000 full time volunteer staffs offering help regardless of ones ethnic, economical or political position.

The YWAM Ships vessel will have on board doctors, dentists, medical specialists, community development workers, water specialists, as well as other practically skilled workers; matching these professionals who volunteer their time with the needs of remote island communities.  These volunteers are of many different nationalities and aim to work alongside of local government, churches, and community groups.

There will also be teams of young people on board who are currently doing a Discipleship Training School with YWAM.  YWAM Ships offers several training courses that prepare the crew for work in the region of Micronesia including Health Care, Navigation and a Bible School.
