YWAM Ships Kona is seeking capable and enthusiastic long term staff as well as short term volunteers to support medical-, dental- and spiritual-aid missions to isolated people in the Pacific. This ministry is playing host to a growing number of islands, which actively includes those in Papua New Guinea, Panama, Marshall Islands and at Port YWAM Kona in Hawaii. The following is a list of personnel needs for various YWAM Ships ministries and locations.

Port YWAM – Kona Hawaii

Maintenance: Port YWAM Kona is in search of an electrician and a plumber to meet the needs here on base. There is also a need for general maintenance workers.

Student Services: This position is responsible for processing training school applications at Port YWAM Kona and Outpost Panama.

Staff Services: This position is responsible for processing long term staff applications at all of YWAM Ships land based ministry locations.

Volunteer Services: This position is responsible for processing short term volunteer applications at all of YWAM Ships land based ministry locations.

Vessel Services: This position is responsible for processing short term volunteer, medical volunteer, and short term crew applications for all of YWAM Ships vessels.

Medical Procurement: This position is responsible for ordering and obtaining medical supplies and resources needed for our ships outreaches.

Reception Desk: This position is responsible for processing enquiries for all of YWAM Ships ministry locations. Role includes fielding telephone inquiries and redirecting them to the appropriate ministries, retrieving and processing mail, and restocking office supplies at Port YWAM.

Visa Desk: Responsible for helping applicants understand and meet the requirements that non-Americans must meet in order to volunteer, train, or staff with YWAM Ships.

Outreach Coordinator (Panama and the Marshall Islands): Responsible for connecting outreach teams to appropriate ministry opportunities; would serve as a liaison integrating the goals of YWAM Ships, local ministry partners and short-term outreach groups.

Kitchen Staff: Port YWAM Kona needs a kitchen crew — including a manager — to prepare meals and snacks for our volunteers, staff and students.

Hospitality Staff: YWAM Ships seeks people to keep our housing presentable and comfortable for our volunteers, trainees and guests here in Kailua-Kona.

CDL Driver: Commercial Drivers License needed for base transport

Training Staff for SONS: Looking for 2-5 people, need to have marine experience & be a DTS graduate.

Training staff for BCC: Looking for 2-5 people, need to have completed a DTS and SBS or BCC

Training staff for DTS: Looking for 5-10 people, need to have completed a DTS

Outpost – Panama

Kitchen Staff: Outpost Panama needs a kitchen crew — including a manager — to prepare meals and snacks for our volunteers, staff and students.

Hospitality Staff: YWAM Ships seeks people to keep our housing presentable and comfortable for our volunteers, trainees and guests in Panama.

Captain & Deck Officers: Captains and Deck Officers to serve in Papua New Guinea.

Marine Engineers and Diesel Mechanics: The ship is still in need of engineers, mechanics and those willing to serve as motorman on watch in the engine room.

Purser: Responsible for overseeing finance and administration on the ship.
