It’s All About the Timing

Jaime Gomez Global, News, Stories

God has a way of having the best timing for everything.   Sometimes it can feels as if He’s saying, “Go Here” while other times it’s, “Just Wait.” Changing Focus Ministries, in partnerShip with YWAM Ships Kona, had this very thing happen to them when they prayed about going to an outer island for Christmas.  “We were praying about where to go for our next trip and felt God leading us to Lae Atoll. Marshall Islands: Partnering with the Ministry of Education

Jaime Gomez News, Stories

Our organization, “Changing Focus Ministries”, that partners with YWAM Ships Kona is doing some great things in the Republic of the Marshall Islands (RMI) to promote education.  For the month of July, on the island of Gugeegu, a neighboring island to Ebeye that is connected by a man-made causeway, we have been a part of a month-long summer camp called, “Spartan Summer Camp”.   It’s a collective effort of the Ebeye Ministry of Education, PREL (Pacific Resources for Education and Learning) and the University of …

I talked to one man who said he had never seen a missionary on the island in his entire life. One of our main goals while there was to deliver a bible in the Marshallese …

Jaime Gomez Stories

For the past 7 weeks our team of nine has been working hard and ministering to different areas in the Marshall Islands. We have partnered up with the Sudernos, an amazing family of four who have been working long term for YWAM Ships in the Marshall Islands. They live on Ebeye, one of the main islands in the Marshall Islands, and take their 57 foot sailing vessel to reach more isolated islands. Our first week in Ebeye was spent celebrating Christmas and New Year’s while …

Features: Port YWAM Students Aid Medical Outreaches

Nick Cizej Global, Medical, News

A group of international students brought medical aid to Marshall Islands citizens during two months of field work which concluded in August. The students were there to fulfill a public-service requirement from the spring Discipleship Training School at Port YWAM. They worked with Scott and Katie Suderno — long-term missionaries who collaborate with YWAM Ships Kona under its partnerSHIP program — along with their children Nick and Sidney. Most of the health care work took place during the two weeks they spent on Carlos and …
